3D EYE EXAM

No Ordinary Eye Exams.
Finally in Vicenza, a highly specialized and technological eye exam that replaces the traditional one.

LET’S CLEAR.

What is the difference between an Optician and an Optometrist?

In many cases (like mine), after a series of training studies, an Optician can elevate his professional status and become an Optometrist.

Unlike the Optician, the Optometrist has the possibility to diagnose more complex aspects of Vision, improving the visual “life” of people who do not have eye diseases.

What is Optometric Control.

Optometry is derived from Optics and is in some ways an evolution.

Unlike the Optician, the Optometrist bases his knowledge on physical, biological, psychological, optometric, contactlogical and anatomical-physiological factors.

In short, he studies how you are made, why you look that way, how you can protect your sight, improve it over time and help you see better, in addition to the so-called “twenty-twenty vision”.

What does “First 3D Eye Exam” entail?

After a long training course, in 2017 our Optical Centre was chosen as the First Optometric Studio in Vicenza in which to apply the 3D Eye Exam (three dimensional) exclusively in the region of Vicenza.

Unlike all traditional vision controls and most Optometric Controls, in OtticaLAB the Optometric eye exam is completely Three Dimensional because it aims to examine the customer in the most natural visual conditions possible.

TECHNICAL ASPECTS.

Before we start with the technical explanation of the new 3D system, do you remember your last eye exam?

The “traditional” process still involves the use of the occluder, an object in the shape of a “palette” which, during the eye examination, the optician places in front of one of the two eyes.

The occluder is a visual barrier that suspends vision in front of one eye.

Even though this has always been the case, most industry professionals have never taken into account the fact that in reality our eyes are connected to each other.

By “mechanically” interrupting the vision of one eye, the vision of the other is in fact also automatically affected.

The new 3D Optometric Eye Exam replaces the old manual occluder DIGITALIZING images with polarization.

Polarizing an image means perceiving only a part of it.

Imagine that the lenses of eyeglasses are 2 small windows and that a Venetian blind is placed in each window one horizontal and the other vertical.

The light will pass through both windows, but will have a different orientation.

On a visual level the same thing happens.

Thanks to the polarization you will avoid objects that affect the vision, making both eyes work at the same time, ensuring that your “visual system” will always remain ACTIVE.

A New Age: what is the revolutionary 3D EYE EXAM.

The 3D eye exam, although an evolution of the previous methodology, marks a considerable turning point when compared with older version.

For the same reason that Apple with the advent of the iPhone rage created the category of “smartphones”, that are clearly not in the same league to the old “mobile phones” and Netflix “cinema at home” that clearly surpasses the Blockbuster’s rental cinema.

What doesn't change

The refraction, or the eye exam with the fitting of various corrective lenses in the phoropter, with the 3D system, remains the same as used in the traditional process.
The 3D eye exam is carried out using highly specialized equipment, an Apple IPad linked to an Apple TV.

What's new

By eliminating the “mechanical nature” of traditional vision control, thanks to 3D images the customer is able to be tested in perfectly natural visual conditions.

Closing the eye with polarized lenses

During the 3D eye exam, the customer can actually perceive only a few images and only with one eye, even though both are open, avoiding any overcompensation.

The 7 advantages of the new eye exam compared to the old one

During the 25 minutes of the 3D exam, the following advantages are guaranteed compared to traditional eye exam:

Refraction takes place under natural conditions and, unlike traditional vision control with the use of the occluder, both eyes can remain open and focused on the image transmitted on the big screen (ideal for people with lazy eyes).

Thanks to a sequence of sharp, brightly colored images, the examination will reproduce visual conditions very similar to real life.

The Visual Test takes place in stereoscopic conditions, in visual situations that are very life like, with 3D assessment capabilities.

You will be comfortable and at ease, in front of relaxing and engaging images, and able to live “your” moment to the fullest, getting excited by visual situations that pay attention to the smallest detail, as if they were a part of everyday life.

Contrary to what happens in the formal medical environment, you will have the opportunity to experience technology that stimulates your curiosity and analyzes the dynamics of your vision in depth.

You might want to leave this out? We can discuss it during our session.

The people who accompany you can also experience the atmosphere, like at the cinema, wearing special polarized glasses and participating in the show, discussing the results, asking questions and comparing their points of view with the Optician’s.

The completely natural binocular vision with its high level of accuracy, without the obstruction of the occluder, cancels the risk of activation of the lens, which distorts the technical terms and can cause the values of corrective lenses to vary.

Our methodology makes it possible to adjust the choice of lens graduation with greater precision than before, calibrating the image balance of one eye sequentially.

The 3D Eye Exam lasts about 1h at a cost of € 97,00.
